Afternoon Session

OIST Science Festa 2022 will be a hybrid event that can be attended at the OIST Auditorium (reservations required) or online. This year, we have prepared a program to see and experience science, including an interactive science show in the OIST Auditorium! Unfortunately, there will be no campus tours or participatory experiment programs in the laboratories this year.

*The event may be held online only, depending on the status of the Covid-19.

How to join

①Join at OIST Auditorium

*Reservation required. Due to limited availability, you may only register and attend one session, in the morning or in the afternoon.

▽Morning：10:00-12:00  ▽Afternoon：14:00-16:00
Maximum capacity：300 guests each session
Application period：October 17 (Monday) - October 30 (Sunday)
*The result of the lottery was sent to each applicant on November 12.

Explore OIST labs you wouldn't normally see! Live streaming so you can ask the scientists any questions you want! This is an exploration tour for both adults and children. *This program will be available only online and you will not be able to enter the labs.

Welcome to the World of Shark​

Nonlinear and Non-equilibrium Physics Unit

What do you think of sharks? Are they scary fish that attack living creatures? This is a time full of information that will turn your image of sharks upside down. You will be a shark expert after seeing this! Using actual specimens, the docter of Shark will explain the differences between sharks and other fish, and how to distinguish between male and female sharks.

 

 

 

Parking information for on-site participants

Participants in Science Festa 2022 may use the OIST Village Center parking lot and multi-story parking garage. Please refer to the link below when coming by car and follow the guidance of the staff on the day of the event.

Food truck is coming!

The Food truck will be open from 12:00-13:00 and 16:00-17:00 in the parking lot next to the OIST auditorium. Enjoy a delicious meal with your friends, and family!

*No one other than the reserved participants will be allowed to enter the venue and purchase food and beverages. Please note that the food trucks will be cancelled in case of bad weather.
