Abstract: Part IV of IV in our series will be dedicated to put our knowledge of simplicial homology in practice. We will present the construction of the triangulations, p-chain groups, p-cycle groups, p-boundary groups and, finally, p-th homology groups of many relevant examples. We will start with 1-manifolds such as the line segment and the circle. We then progress to 2-manifolds: the Mobius strip, the cylinder, the torus, the sphere and the projective plane. If time allows, we discuss the torsion subgroup and how it captures the non-orientability.
