IP Creation and Management in Academic Research

Trained as a Physicist at Oxford University, Gwilym Roberts is qualified as a European Patent Attorney, and holds the position of Honorary Visiting Professor of Queen Mary University of London.

Gwilym will speak about:

  • how to determine if an invention can be patented?
  • the differences and similiarities between scientists/inventors and papers/patents
  • what makes a strong patent
  • his experiences of helping inventors
  • an extended Q&A session
