Spring Holiday Program 2021 　2021年春のホリデープログラム

 

Welcome Children!　ようこそ子どもたち！

The School Aged Program is happy to welcome a number of new families to our holiday program and after school services. We enjoyed meeting new kids and introducing them to new friends. We watched as they got to know the other kids and played together and helped each other.

It is with great delight that we welcome back our returning children. Thank you for helping your new friends become comfortable in the SAP room.

小中学校プログラムは、ホリデープログラムやアフタースクールサービスへたくさんの新しいご家族をお迎えすることができ嬉しく思います。私たちは新しい子どもたちに会い、彼らを新しい友達に紹介するのを楽しみました。 彼らが他の子どもたちと知り合い、一緒に遊び、助け合ったりするのを見守りました。

SAPに戻ってきた子どもたちを再び迎えるのは非常に喜ばしいことです。 新しいお友達がSAPルームに慣れるよう手伝ってくれてありがとう！

 

Thank You to BFM for Our New Play Area　新しい遊び場を作ってくれたBFMに感謝

 

A huge thank you to the hard-working team at BFM who provided us with a new play area for a new school year. The play area is soft and children can play with or without their shoes safely. The manholes have been covered with the same material for a safer surface. Water drains quickly after rainy days and children are not returning from play covered in mud anymore. Children can play the same games and with the same equipment as before, but more safely with the new surface.

新学期のために新しい遊び場を提供してくれたBFMチームの方々に心から感謝します。 遊び場の地面は柔らかく、子どもたちは靴をはいてもはかなくても、安全に遊ぶことができます。 マンホールは同じ材質で覆われていて、より安全な地面になりました。 雨の日の後は水はけが良いため、子どもたちは遊びの後に泥まみれで戻ってくることはありません。以前と同じゲームや道具で遊ぶことができますが、新しい地面でより安全に過ごすことができます。

Spring Holiday Program Activities　春のホリデープログラムアクティビティー

Slimy Science

Rei-sensei and Uma sensei taught the children how to make slime using a new ingredient, shaving cream.  During the activity, the children secretly explored the concepts of science such as cross-linking, states of matter, elasticity and viscosity. They discovered how the amount of borax could change the elasticity of the slime. More they added, harder the slime became. On the other hand, the shaving cream made their slime fluffy and stretchy. They had great fun making different shapes with their slime. Some of them decorated their slime with beads.

レイ先生とウマ先生は、新しい材料であるシェービングクリームを使ってスライムを作る方法を子どもたちに教えました。 活動中、子どもたちは、架橋結合、物質の状態、弾力性、粘性などの科学の概念を密かに探求しました。 彼らは、ホウ砂の量によってスライムの弾力性が変わることを学びました。ホウ砂が多くなるほど、スライムは固くなりました。 一方、シェービングクリームはスライムをふわふわで伸縮性のあるものにしました。 彼らはスライムでさまざまな形を作るのをとても楽しみました。 ビーズでスライムを飾りつけた子もいました。

Adorable Pipe Cleaner Animal craft

Uma sensei and Rei-sensei used colorful pipe cleaners to teach children how to make a few animals. The children developed their motor skills during this activity. Turtle, bunny rabbit, and the octopus were among those who proudly went home with the kids.

モールで作る可愛いアニマルクラフト

ウマ先生とレイ先生は、カラフルなモールを使って、子どもたちに数種類の動物の作り方を教えました。 子どもたちはこの活動で指先の運動能力を発達させました。 カメ、うさぎ、タコなどは子どもたちと一緒に誇らしげに家に帰りました。

 

A Visit from Sunna-chan

When playing on the beach we noticed how much trash was scattered around, so we did a small beach clean up with the kids. Because our health and welfare is directly related to the status of the environment, we believe it is important to teach children about the pollution and its effects on the world around them. During the SAP holiday program, children attended a presentation and listened to a talk about the growing problem of the plastic pollution of the oceans and its dangers. We had a conversation about the ways to live sustainably and the small changes everyone can make to contribute to the protection of the environment. After that, Sunna-chan - the Onna village mascot and a member of the ocean protection team - came to visit and brought a lot of excitment.

私たちがビーチで遊んでいると、ゴミが散らばっていることに気づいたので、子どもたちと一緒に小さなビーチ掃除をしました。 私たちの健康と幸せは環境の状態と直接関係しているため、私たちは子どもたちに、汚染が周囲の世界に与える影響について教えることが重要であると考えています。 SAPのホリデープログラムでは、子どもたちがプレゼンテーションに参加し、海洋プラスチック汚染の深刻化する問題とその危険性についての話を聞きました。 私たちは持続可能な生活を送る方法と、環境保護に貢献するために誰もができる小さな変化について話し合いました。 その後、恩納村のマスコットで海洋保護チームのメンバーであるスンナちゃんが訪ねてきて、大いに盛り上がりました。

 

Rain Sticks

Children learned about the Native American tradition of using rain sticks in a ceremony when they need the rain to come. We made our own rain sticks out of decorated paper towel rolls filled with aluminum foil and grains of dry rice to mimic the sound of rain. The SAP apologizes for the rainy weekend afterward.

子どもたちは、雨が必要な時に儀式でレインスティックを使うというネイティブアメリカンの伝統について学びました。雨の音を模倣するためにアルミホイルと乾いた米粒で満たされた飾り付けたペーパータオルの芯で独自のレインスティックを作りました。週末に雨が降ったらごめんなさい！

 

 

Growing a Bean Sprout Experiment

SAP children learned about the life cycle of a seed. Most of the children had grown seeds in soil before, but for this experiment we wanted to see if seeds could grow in either cotton wool or paper towel.  

Some children placed a few seedlings in damp cotton wool, then they covered the container with plastic wrap to produce moisture. Others used a zip-lock bag with a wet paper towel inside. Once the children had added stickers and their names to their pots/bags we stuck the bags to the window in the craft room. The pots stayed in a bucket next to the window. Over the next few days, children started to see the seeds sprouting. It was great to see the children get so excited about the growth of their seeds. They have now learnt that both methods of growing a seed work! The children were encouraged to take their seeds that turned into plants home for future planting or eating.  

 

もやしを育てる実験

SAPの子どもたちは、種のライフサイクルについて学びました。 ほとんどの子どもたちは以前に土壌で種を育てたことがありますが、この実験では、種が脱脂綿またはペーパータオルのいずれかで育つことができるかどうかを確認したいと思いました。

何人かの子どもたちは湿った脱脂綿に数本の苗を置き、湿気を生み出すために容器をラップで覆いました。 他の子どもたちは、中に濡れたペーパータオルが入ったジップロックバッグを使いました。 容器/ジップロックにステッカーを貼り名前を書いたら、ジップロックは、クラフトルームの窓に貼り付けました。 容器は窓の隣のバケツの中に置きました。 次の数日で、子どもたちは種が発芽するのを見ました。 子どもたちが種の成長をとても喜んでいるのを見て嬉しかったです。 彼らは今、種を育てる両方の方法がうまくいくことを学びました！ 植え付けまたは食べるために、植物に変わった種を家に持ち帰るよう子どもたちに勧めています。

Beach Play

During the Holiday Program, children spent several days on the beach. We made sand castles and explored the beach. Some children learned how to skip stones; others made friends with hermit crabs. We encouraged children to leave the beach cleaner than they found it each time they visited, and everyone was good at finding pieces of plastic or food trash that had washed up to bring back and throw away.

ホリデープログラムの間、子どもたちはビーチで数日過ごしました。 砂のお城を作ったりビーチを探索しました。 水切りを学んだ子もいればヤドカリとふれあった子もいました。私たちは子どもたちに、ビーチを訪れる時は来た時よりもきれいな状態にしてから帰るよう勧めました。持ち帰って捨てるため、打ち上げられたプラスチックや食べ物のゴミを見つけるのがみんな上手でした。

Tennis

Children took the tennis rackets and tennis balls down to the tennis courts several times during the Holiday Program. They practiced their serves and returns. Many of our children can now hit the ball over the net and some can return a serve regularly. They all had a great time taking turns on the tennis courts.

ホリデープログラムの期間中、子どもたちはテニスラケットとテニスボールを持ってテニスコートに数回行きました。 彼らはサーブとリターンの練習をしました。 子どもたちの多くは今ではネット上でボールを打つことができ、何人かは続けてサーブを返すことができます。 みんなは交代でテニスコートで素晴らしい時間を過ごしました。

Free Play

There was plenty of time for unstructured, creative free play inside and outside the SAP room as well. Children played with toys and legos, created rubber-band bracelets and necklaces, made iron bead creations, played with scratch art paper, and taught each other a lot of different things. We hope everyone had a lot of fun.

自由遊び

SAPルーム内外で、構造化されていないクリエイティブな自由遊びを行う十分な時間がありました。 子どもたちはおもちゃやレゴで遊んだり、輪ゴムのブレスレットやネックレスを作ったり、アイロンビーズの作品を作ったり、スクラッチアートをしたり、お互いにさまざまなことを教え合ったりしました。 みんなが楽しんでくれたことを願っています。

 

COVID-19対策　COVID-19 Measures Continue

SAPはCOVID-19保護対策を引き続き実施しています。ルームは一日に複数回消毒され、子どもたちの定期的な手洗いやマスクの適切な着用を促しています。すべてのSAPスタッフは、隔週でOISTのPCRテストを受けています。保護者の方は、SAPルーム内では常にマスクを着用してください。マスクを着用していない場合は、外での待機をお願いします。ご協力ありがとうございます。

SAP COVID-19 protection measures remain in place. The room is disinfected multiple times a day, and children are reminded regularly to wash their hands and wear their masks properly. All SAP staff are receiving bi-weekly OIST PCR tests. We continue to ask parents and guardians to wear masks inside the SAP room at all times. Anyone without a mask must remain outside. We appreciate your cooperation.

屋内や屋外の遊び場で活動しているSAPの子どもたちの写真は、3/4月の写真アルバムをご覧ください。今後の写真やビデオのための空き容量を確保するため、過去のアルバムは定期的に削除してるので、残しておきたいお子さんの写真は保存していただくようお願いします。
