2021〜2022年度新学期の登録受付が始まりました！
2021〜2022年度の登録を受付けております。 新学期に登録するには、3月20日17:00までに新学期の登録用紙と必要契約書類に記入してください。
契約書：アフタースクール（ホリデープログラムを含む）; ホリデープログラムのみ; 送迎サービス
あなたの情報（緊急連絡先番号またはメールアドレス、お子さんの健康状態など）のいずれかが変更になった場合は、新しい用紙にご記入ください。 用紙はSAPウェブサイトにあります。
SAPサービスに初めて登録される場合は、SAPサイトにアクセスし、ステップごとの手続きをお願いします。

Registration for FY 2021-2022 is now open. To register for the new school year, please complete the registration form and necessary contracts for the new school year by March 20th at 17:00.
Contracts: After school (includes holiday program); Holiday program only; Transportation service
If any of your information has changed (emergency contact number or email, child's medical information, etc), please fill in a new form. You can find the forms on the SAP website.
If this is your first time registering for SAP services, please go to the SAP website and complete the step-by-step process.

What's New? Bulletin Boards and Map
SAPルームをお子さんにとってより快適な環境にするために改善を続けている間、根気強く待ってくださる保護者の方々に感謝します。 私達は新しい世界地図に夢中になっています。 子ども達とスタッフは、地図上の自分の出生地にピンで印をつけています。 SAPは子ども達とスタッフの多様性を称えています。
また、ルームのいくつかの新しい掲示板にお気づきになったかもしれません。これらを使って、お知らせや子ども達の作品をきれいに展示するつもりです。 最新情報にご注目ください！
The SAP would like to thank parents/guardians for their patience while we continue to make child-friendly improvements to the SAP rooms. We are very excited about our new world map. Children and staff have been encouraged to pin their birthplace on the map. The SAP celebrates the diversity of our children and staff.
You may also have noticed some new bulletin boards in the room.We will be using these to neatly display announcements and children's work. Keep an eye out for updates!
特別ゲスト Special Guests to the SAP Room
ロレッタ・ホワイトさんとのヨガ
SAPは、今年も子ども向けのヨガワークショップを主催してくれたロレッタ・ホワイトさんに感謝します。 彼女は今月のヨガセッションに「新年」のアプローチを導入し、子ども達はポジティブな2021に向けて準備しました。子ども達は、ロレッタさんと交流し柔軟性のスキルを披露して楽しみました。 今年もまたロレッタさんがSAPを訪問してくれるのを楽しみにしています。
Yoga with Loretta White
Once again the SAP would like to thank Loretta White for coming back this year to lead another yoga workshop for children. She introduced a “New Year” approach into her Yoga session this month to set the children up for a positive 2021. The children love interacting and showing off their flexibility skills to Loretta. We are looking forward to Loretta’s continued visits to the SAP this year.
ラダ・ニーマンさんの海洋科学トーク
SAPは、今月のサイエンスフライデーでラダ・ネイマンさんをお迎えしました。 ラダさんの海洋生物やOIST海洋科学者の活動についてのお話は、子ども達に大好評でしたした。 プレゼンテーションの中で、子ども達は質問をしたりディスカッションしたりして興味を示しました。
Marine Science with Rada Neiman
The SAP welcomed Rada Neiman for a Science Friday this month. She gave a very popular and well-recieved talk about ocean life and what OIST marine scientists do. Throughout the talk children showed interest by asking questions and engaging in discussions.
冬のホリデープログラム Winter Holiday Program
SAPの冬のホリデープログラムは大成功でした。 子ども達は、砂のお城、キラキラボトル、ペーパークロマトグラフィー、シェービングクリームを使ったグリーティングカード作りなど、さまざまな構造化された活動や自由遊びを楽しみました。 参加してくれた皆さん、ありがとうございました。 皆さんの継続的なサポートのおかげで、私達はホリデープログラム中に楽しく教育的なアクティビティを提供することができます。
The SAP Winter Holiday Program was a big success. Children enjoyed a variety of structured and free activities including building sand castles, making calming jars, exploring the effects of water on water-based markers drawn on filter paper, making shaving cream greeting cards, and much more. Thank you to everyone who participated. Your continued support allows us to provide fun and educational activities during holiday programs.
1月のクラブとイベント Clubs and Events in January
お絵描きクラブ
1月からお絵描きの基本テクニックの練習を始めました。子ども達にはまずプリントが配られ、5分ほどの簡単なエクササイズをします。今月は平行線とグリッド(格子)を書く練習をしました。子ども達はカラーマーカーを使って楽しみながら練習しました。それが終わったら、好きなキャラクターやイラストを選んで、トレーシングや模写、ぬり絵を楽しみました。中には日本の伝統的な着物の模様を描く子ども達もいました。
Drawing Club
We started practicing basic drawing techniques from January. Firstly the children are provided with a sheet to do a simple excercise of about 5 minutes. This month we practiced drawing parallel lines and grids. They loved using color markers. After that, they chose their favorite characters and illustrations and enjoyed tracing, copying, and coloring. Some of them drew some patterns of traditional Japanese kimono.
ハンドボール
1月は雨の日が少なくなり、子ども達はようやくハンドボールをすることができました。 今月、子ども達はプレーを楽しみ、チームワークやまとめる力の練習をしました。 毎週ハンドボールに参加する子ども達がたくさんいますが、彼らの運動能力が向上するのを見られて嬉しいです。
Handball
During the month of January, the children have been lucky enough to finally play handball with some less rainy days. The children have enjoyed practicing their handball, teamwork and organizational skills this month. There has been a wide range of children taking part in handball week to week, it is wonderful to see how their sporting abilities have improved.
テニス
現在、シーサイドハウスのテニスコートが利用できるようになり、SAP専用のラケットも数本あります。 テニスボールを打って遊んだり、適切なテクニックを学ぶ子もいます。 約16人の子ども達が定期的にテニスに興味を示しています。 ウィリアム先生は興味のある子ども達には適切なフォアハンドを打つ方法を教えています。 スイングに興味がない、または未経験の子のためには、ネット上でのボール打ちを中心に行っています。
Tennis
We are now able to make use of the tennis court at Seaside House, and we have several racquets dedicated to SAP use. Children enjoy hitting tennis balls around, and for those who want to work on learning proper technique, that is available as well. Around 16 children regularly express interest in playing tennis. William sensei has been teaching interested children how to hit a proper forehand. For those not interested or unable to execute a swing, we focus on hitting the ball up and over the net.
サイエンスフライデー Science Fridays
SAPの子ども達は、レイ先生とナターシャ先生のお手伝いのもと、ウマ先生が企画するサイエンスフライデーの活動に参加しています。 このような探究主導の実験は、子ども達が批判的思考や問題解決のスキルを身に付けるように設計されています。 お子さんは科学者のように考え、楽しみながらデータを記録しています！ パワーポイントのスライドや、英語と日本語の配布資料等すべての教材は、SAPウェブサイトのサイエンスフライデーの欄からご覧ください。
Children at SAP have been involved in the following Science Friday activities created by Uma-sensei, assisted by Rei-sensei and Natasha-sensei. Such inquiry driven experiments are designed to build critical thinking and problem-solving skills in your children. Your children are thinking like scientists, recording data while having FUN! Please check out the Science Friday Section of our website to find all the instructional materials such as Powerpoint presentations and handout in English and Japanese.

アーティストは科学者になることができます！ 子ども達はシェービングクリームを使って手を汚しながらも楽しい実験をしました。 創造的な活動を通して疎水性と親水性という用語を学びました。 マーブル模様の紙を作り、大切な人のためにホリデーグリーティングカードを書きました。

Shaving cream greeting cards
Artists can be scientist! Children had a messy but fun experiment with shaving cream. They got introduced to the terms hydrophobic and hydrophilic through a creative activity. They made marbleized paper and used that to make Holiday greeting cards for their loved ones.
毎週のサイエンスフライデー Weekly Science Fridays
静電気の実験
子ども達は、空の稲妻は静電気によって作られることを学びました。 彼らは髪の毛に風船をこすりつけて静電気を発生させました。 紙片、塩、コショウで実験したら風船にくっついたので、反対の電荷は引き付けられると結論付けました。 この日の実験の後、若い科学者たちはまったく別の髪型になっていました！
Static electricity experiment
Children learned that Lightning in the sky is created by static electricity. They created static electricity by rubbing a balloon on their hair. Children experimented with paper pieces, salt and pepper which jumped to the balloon, concluding that opposite charges attract. The budding scientists had quite a different hairstyle after the experiment that day!
ラバランプの実験
生徒たちはラバランプを作って密度の概念を探りました。 試験管内で油と水を制酸剤の錠剤と混ぜ、制酸剤が水と反応して二酸化炭素の泡を作りました。 泡が上下に渦巻く色のついた水の塊に付着して溶岩のような効果を生み出すのを見て、子ども達は大喜びでした。 若い科学者たちはこの実験をなんどか繰り返しました！
Lava Lamp Experiment
Students explored the concept of density by making lava lamps. They mixed oil and water in a test tube with an antacid tablet which reacted with water to make bubbles of carbon dioxide. Children were full of excitement to see the bubbles attach themselves to the blobs of colored water swirling up and down creating a lava like effect. Our young scientist repeated the experiment several times!
毎月のサイエンスフライデー実演 Monthly Science Friday Demonstrations
SAPのご家庭の方は、お迎えの際、入口にある新しい許可書にお気づきになったと思います。 来年からはウマ先生による毎月の科学実演が行われます。 これはお子さんが毎週行う実践的な実験への追加となります。毎月の実演にお子さんが参加することを希望される場合は、英語または日本語の許可書にご記入の上、SAPスタッフにご提出ください。この用紙に1度だけ記入すれば、お子さんは今後すべての実演に参加できます。
SAP families may have noticed a new permission slip at the door when they pick up their children. Beginning in the new year, there will be monthly science demonstrations by Uma-sensei. These are in addition to the weekly hands-on experiments done by your children. To give your child the chance to participate in these monthly demonstrations, please fill out the permission form in English or Japanese and submit it to any SAP staff member. You only need to fill out this form once to allow your child to attend all future demonstrations.

お子さんの学校が休みの日にホリデープログラムサービスに参加される方は、ホリデープログラムのウェブフォームをご利用できます。ホリデープログラムの日に昼食とおやつを注文する場合は、前月の20日までにご登録をお願いします。
The holiday program webform is available for families who will to partake in holiday program services during their children's school holidays. Remember to sign up before the 20th of the preceding month if you want to order lunch and snack on holiday program days.
COVID-19対策 COVID-19 Measures Continue
SAPはCOVID-19保護対策を引き続き実施しております。ルームは一日に複数回消毒され、子ども達の定期的な手洗いやマスクの適切な着用を促しています。すべてのSAPスタッフは、隔週でOISTのPCRテストを受けています。保護者の方は、SAPルーム内では常にマスクを着用してください。マスクを着用していない場合は、外での待機をお願いしております。みなさんのご協力に感謝しております。
SAP COVID-19 protection measures remain in place. The room is disinfected multiple times a day, and children are reminded regularly to wash their hands and wear their masks properly. All SAP staff are receiving bi-weekly OIST PCR tests. We continue to ask parents and guardians to wear masks inside the SAP room at all times. Anyone without a mask must remain outside. We appreciate your cooperation.

屋内および屋外の遊び場で活動しているSAPの子ども達の写真は、1月の写真アルバムをご覧ください。今後の写真やビデオための空き容量を確保するため、過去のアルバムは定期的に削除していますので、とっておきたいお子さんの写真は必ず保存をお願いいたします。
For more photos of SAP kids doing activities in the room and in the outdoor play areas, please check out the January photo album. Be sure to save photos of your child that you want to keep because we delete older albums regularly to free space for new photos and videos.
