今月のクラブとイベント Clubs and Events in December
段ボールの街 Cardboard City
雨の多い今月、私達はほとんどの日を屋内で過ごしました。 お迎えに来た保護者の方は、ピンクマットの部屋にできた段ボールの街にお気づきになったかもしれません。 雨で外で遊ぶことができない時、子ども達は段ボールの家や砦を作って遊びました。
This rainy month has kept us all indoors most days. Parents and guardians coming to get their kids may have noticed the cardboard city that has been growing up in the pink mat room. Children have been making houses and forts to play in when it is too wet to play outside.
絵描きクラブ Drawing Club
お絵描きクラブに参加する子ども達は、日々腕を上げ、自信を持ったアーティストになっています。 レイ先生は、子ども達がアートを楽しみ、スキルを向上させたりするためにがんばっています。
Children who participate in drawing club are becoming better and more confident artists every day. Rei sensei works tirelessly to help them enjoy art and improve their skills.
心と体 Mind and Body
レイチェル先生は、子ども達に曲を選ばせ「ジャストダンス」をするように導きました。子ども達は自分の好きな音楽に合わせて踊って楽しみました。 ダンスは動きを通して心と体をつなぎます。
Rachel guided children to select music and "just dance". Children were excited to dance to some of their favorite songs. Dancing connects the mind and body through movement.
ヨガ Yoga
ロレッタ・ホワイトさんは、子ども向けのヨガワークショップを主催するために12月にまた来てくれました。 子ども達は「冬のポーズ」や瞑想を一緒に挑戦しました。 SAPは新年もロレッタさんに会えるのを楽しみにしています。
SAP thanks Loretta White for coming again in December to lead a yoga workshop for children. Children tried out "winter poses" and some meditation together. We look forward to seeing Loretta again in the new year.
チェス Chess
チェスクラブは駒の動きを練習するために定期的に会合しています。
The chess club has been meeting regularly to practice their moves.
ハンドボールクラブ Handball
12月は雨の月で、ハンドボールクラブは数回しか練習できませんでした。 それでも彼らは一生懸命プレーし、どんどん上手になっています。 2021年は晴れの日がもっと多くなり、たくさん練習できますように！
December was a rainy month and handball club was only able to practice a couple times. Still they worked hard and became better and better. We hope they have brighter days in 2021!
毎週のサイエンスフライデー Weekly Science Fridays
SAPの子ども達は、レイ先生とナターシャ先生の協力のもと、ウマ先生が考案した下記のサイエンスフライデーの活動に参加しています。 このような探究主導の実験は、子ども達が批判的思考と問題解決のスキルを身に付けるために構成されています。 お子さんは科学者のように考え、楽しみながらデータを記録していますよ！
Children at SAP have been involved in the following Science Friday activities created by Uma-sensei, assisted by Rei-sensei and Natasha-sensei. Such inquiry driven experiments are designed to build critical thinking and problem-solving skills in your children. Your children are thinking like scientists, recording data while having FUN!
重曹と酢の実験：カップに隠された謎の色と踊るレーズン
Baking soda and vinegar experiments: Mystery color hidden in a cup & Dancing raisins
子ども達は、重曹と酢を混ぜて次の2つの化学反応を行い、CO2ガスを作りました。 一つのカップの中に隠された色を解明し、別のカップの中でレーズンを踊らせました。 彼らは、自分たちが吐き出すガスCO2は、地球温暖化と海洋酸性化を引き起こすことを学びました。
Students performed the following two chemical reactions mixing baking soda and vinegar to create CO2 gas. They determined the hidden color in one cup and made the raisins dance in another. They learned that CO2, the gas they exhale, causes global warming and ocean acidification.
カタパルトの発射：Catapult Launch:
子ども達は、アイスキャンデーの棒、輪ゴム、スプーンを使ってカタパルトを作りました。 彼らは、カタパルトによって発射されたピンポン球の距離を測定し、単純な装置について学びました。
Students built a catapult using popsicle sticks, rubber bands and spoons. They measured the distance of the Ping-Pong ball launched by the catapult, learning about simple machines.
ペーパークロマトグラフィー：Paper chromatography:
子ども達は、黒インクが青、緑、紫、黄色の染料の混合物であることを学びました。 同様に、赤インクはオレンジ、ピンク、黄色の染料の混合物です。 水を根から木の葉に運ぶ毛細管現象についても学びました。
Students learned that black ink is a mixture of blue, green, purple and yellow dyes. Similarly, red ink is a mixture of orange, pink and yellow dyes. They learned about capillary action which transports water from the roots to the leaves of a tree.
サイエンスフライデー月例イベント Monthly Science Friday Demonstrations
SAPのご家族の方は、お迎えの際、入口にある新しい許可書にお気づきになったと思います。 来年からはウマ先生による毎月の科学実演が行われます。 これはお子さんが毎週行う実践的な実験への追加になります。毎月の実演にお子さんが参加することを希望される場合は、英語または日本語の許可書にご記入の上、SAPスタッフにご提出ください。この用紙に1度だけ記入すれば、お子さんは今後すべての実演に参加できます。
SAP families may have noticed a new permission slip at the door when they pick up their children. Beginning in the new year, there will be monthly science demonstrations by Uma-sensei. These are in addition to the weekly hands-on experiments done by your children. To give your child the chance to participate in these monthly demonstrations, please fill out the permission form in English or Japanese and submit it to any SAP staff member. You only need to fill out this form once to allow your child to attend all future demonstrations.
12月のホリデープログラム Holiday Program in December
SAPルームでは、12月に数日間のホリデープログラムがありました。 子ども達は自然散策をしたり、紙の人形や動物、恐竜を作ったり、スライムの個体と液体の性質を学んだり、レインスティックを作る文化的伝統の体験などをしました。 写真アルバムで、これらの活動を実際に見てみてください！
The SAP room enjoyed several holiday program days in December. Kids went on nature walks, made paper dolls and paper animals and dinosaurs, learned about the solid and liquid properties of slime, and the cultural tradition of making rain sticks, among other activities. Check out the photo album to see some of these activities in action!
1月、2月、3月のホリデープログラムに登録できます
Enrollment available for January, February, and March Holiday Program days
お子さんの学校が休みの間にホリデープログラムサービスに参加する方、ホリデープログラムのウェブフォームをご利用できます。ホリデープログラムの日に昼食とおやつを注文する場合は、前月の20日までにご登録をお願いします。
The holiday program webform is available for families who will to partake in holiday program services during their children's school holidays. Remember to sign up before the 20th of the preceding month if you want to order lunch and snack on holiday program days.
COVID-19対策
SAPはCOVID-19保護対策を引き続き実施しております。ルームは一日に複数回消毒され、子ども達の定期的な手洗いやマスクの適切な着用を促しています。すべてのSAPスタッフは、隔週でOISTのPCRテストを受けています。保護者の方は、SAPルーム内では常にマスクを着用してください。マスクを着用していない場合は、外での待機をお願いしております。みなさんのご協力に感謝しております。
COVID-19 Measures Continue
SAP COVID-19 protection measures remain in place. The room is disinfected multiple times a day, and children are reminded regularly to wash their hands and wear their masks properly. All SAP staff are receiving bi-weekly OIST PCR tests. We continue to ask parents and guardians to wear masks inside the SAP room at all times. Anyone without a mask must remain outside. We appreciate your cooperation.

屋内および屋外の遊び場で活動しているSAPの子ども達の写真は、12月の写真アルバムをご覧ください。今後の写真やビデオための空き容量を確保するため、過去のアルバムは定期的に削除しておりますので、とっておきたいお子さんの写真は必ず保存をお願いいたします。
For more photos of SAP kids doing activities in the room and in the outdoor play areas, please check out the December photo album. Be sure to save photos of your child that you want to keep because we delete older albums regularly to free space for new photos and videos.
