OIST SANSHIN LESSON Spring Semester (April 6 ~ June 29)
Satsuki Agena
Satsuki- Sensei was born and raised in Okinawa. She began learning the Sanshin at the age of 8. At the age of 16, She joined the Ryukyu Classical Music Preservation Nomura Style Association, and began to study Ryukyu classical music. After graduating from a university in Okinawa, she went to Canada and realized how wonderful Okinawan culture is.When she returned from Canada, her Sanshin journey commenced with her artist name “sanshinista” in January 2019. With her Sanshin passed over from her grandfather and aunt, she seeks to share the fun and spread Okinawa's beautiful culture with OIST students. “Although my base is Ryukyu classical music, I always want to be open to new ways share the tradition, not just stick with preservation. I will be so happy if I can bring joy to many people through my work.”
沖縄で生まれ育ったさつき先生は、８歳から三線を習い始めました。１６歳の時に野村流 古典音楽保存会に入会し、琉球古典音楽について学び始めました。沖縄県内の大学を卒業後はカナダへ留学し、沖縄の文化の素晴らしさを再認識します。２０１９年１月にカナダから帰国してからは、”サンシニスタ”という芸名で活動を始めました。さつき先生の三線は、祖父から叔母、そして彼女へ３世代で受け継がれたものです。沖縄の美しい文化をOIST学生と共有し、その楽しさを広めていきたいです。

Beginners Class
You will be able to play “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” in the first class!
In this class, you will be introduced to a brief history of Sanshin and basic skills like how to use a pick, how to hold the Sanshin, and how to read the notes. We will practice the first three songs below for a month to make friends with sanshin J Then gradually move onto Okinawan traditional songs/POP songs. In this class, you will be able to read notes and play:
最初のクラスで”きらきら星”が弾けるようになります！
このクラスでは、三線の歴史の紹介や基礎的な部分（三線のピックの使い方、三線の持ち方、楽譜の読み方等）を学びます。最初は以下の３曲を学びながら、三線に慣れていくことから始めて、次第に沖縄の曲やポップスに進んでいきます。
このクラスでは、三線の楽譜を読むことができ、以下の曲が演奏出来るようになります。
- Twinkle Twinkle Little Star（きらきら星）
- Froggy song（カエルの歌）
- Orion Beer Song from BEGIN（オジー自慢のオリオンビール）
- Aha-bushi – Okinawan fork song（安波節）
- Asadoya-Yunta – Okinawan fork song（安里屋ユンタ）
- Shimanchunu Takara (Treasure of Islander) from BEGIN（島人の宝）
Intermediate/Advanced Class
This is a class for those can reads notes fluently. I take any requests, Okinawan folk songs, POPs, Ryukyuan Classical music, in this class. You will enjoy your favorite songs.
このクラスは楽譜がスラスラ読める人向けのクラスです。リクエストを受けつけているので、沖縄民謡や、ポップス、琉球古典音楽等、好きな曲を練習出来ます！
Example of requested songs｜リクエスト曲の例:
・Nada soso（涙そうそう）
・Sanshin no Hana（三振の花）
・Warbigami（童神）
・Songs for Eisa (Okinawan traditional drum dance) （エイサー曲）
・Onna-bushi (Ryukyuan classical song)（恩納節）

Fee| 料金
The cost for Sanshin lesson are 1,500 JPY for each lesson.
Please pay the instructor in cash at the class each time.
All the participants ( 6 people ) can rent a sanshin per class.There is a 500 yen extra charge for renting the Sanshin per class.
参加費は１クラス当たり１，５００円です。
クラス参加毎に、講師に直接現金でお支払い下さい。
参加者の皆さん（６人）は、どなたでも三線を借りることが出来ます。
レンタル料としてクラス毎に参加費＋５００円を頂きます。

NOTE
*This is a class for 3 months from April 6th ~ June 29th
Once you register the class, you are registered for the period of time.
*This registration will be closed after 3 lessons are done (April 20th) since it will be hard to catch up.

このクラスは４月６日～６月２９日までの３カ月コースです。
３カ月間のクラスにお申込み頂くことになります。
遅れを取り戻すことが難しいため、３回目のクラス以降（４月２０日）は、クラス登録を締め切ります。
