OSMP 2021 Postponed

Thank you very much for applying for the Okinawa Science Mentoring Program (OSMP) 2021.

We are very sorry to announce that the OSMP team has decided to postpone the OSMP because of a state of emergency. Accordingly, we sent out mentor's and mentee's surveys to arrange an alternative schedule that will allow as many high school students as possible to come to the OIST campus to conduct experiments. Please answer the survey to let us know your plans for the long vacation and your intention to participate after the postponement.

We will organize an online seminar for people who have applied for the OSMP 2021. Please confirm the online seminar website to check in detail.

Registration for mentors is closed - thank you for your registration! 

Mentoring sessions schedule will be as follows. If you have any questions please contact

  • The first day: Zoom orientation (Japanese and English)
  • The second ~ fourth day: Experiments
  • The fifth day: Final presentation(either Japanese or English)


We are constantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation and will delay OSMP to later in the year or have a virtual workshop if necessary.  Please keep an eye on this website for updates.
