By combining the microfluidic system with a high-throughput machine learning approach for single cell tracking, the group observed how voltage-gated ion channels influence cell movements in two different models of glioblastoma, and charted the effects of the ion channels on cancer cell migration."

Francesco Del Giudice et al. have been awarded a Soft Matter poster prize for their work “The μ-rheometer: an effective microfluidic platform to measure relaxation time of weakly viscoelastic polymer solutions”. The prize was received at the Annual European Rheology Conference 2017 held in Copenhagen.
