Quantum Awareness Certificate Degree

The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) is developing a certificate degree in the field of cybersecurity. The first type of certificate will be in Quantum Awareness.

The Quantum Awareness Certificate Degree is aimed to serve professionals with a fundamental understanding of mathematics and logical thinking, who want to understand why and how quantum technologies are going to change our world. This is particularly well suited to engineers working in technology companies who are looking to expand into quantum technologies. 

On completion of the degree, participants will have a good understanding of the fundamentals of quantum mechanics and of the reach of quantum technologies applications, such as quantum computing and quantum cryptography. 

The degree will have an online component (quantum mechanics theory) and a face-to-face component (experiments and applications of quantum mechanics) with approximately 30 hours of content each.
