Science Challenge 2021
Science Challenge is coming back fully online!
OIST Science Challenge workshop will be providing participants with a unique opportunity to extend their scientific education and experience research. We also offer valuable information and tips to help them prepare for a doctoral program. Through a series of activities with faculty, postdocs, as well as with PhD students, the participants will learn about research conducted at OIST, and skills needed to survive and enjoy a PhD life. At the end of the workshop, participants will be asked to present a submitted slide presentation on the theme "Transcending Borders" in light of their experience throughout the week. The presentation will be shared with the OIST community.
HiSci Lab (ハイサイ・ラボ)2021
The "Science Project for Ryukyu Girls Science Camp" that began in 2014 was re-named "HiSci Lab" in 2021.
In order to support the advancement of women into the STEM field, we encourage female high school students in Okinawa Prefecture to continue their education in STEM. "Hi-Sci" is coming from "Highschool" + "Science".
Female researchers from Okinawa Prefecture who are active both inside and outside the prefecture will have the opportunity to pass on knowledge and convey the joys of science. In addition to lectures, students will have the opportunity to learn through workshops with PhD students and Post-Doctoral researchers at OIST.
