Under the leadership of the President, the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (hereinafter referred to as “OIST”) established the Gender Equality Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “Committee”) in March 2013, initially to focus on gender equality in all aspects of university management as part of measures to promote diversity. On April 1, 2015, the Gender Equality Division was established to promote an environment across OIST campus where everyone can reach their full potential regardless of gender, national origin, age, or family status.
The Committee is to continue as an advisory body to the Division.
