Basic Life Support (BLS)

Due to the location situation of OIST campus, extra time will be required until the ambulance personnel arrive if an accident occurs on campus property. The survival rate increases by providing appropriate basic life support before the ambulance arrivesAdditionally, OIST's Research Safety Policy (PRP13.1.1.2) states that "If an accident occurs, OIST personel must implement appropriate first-aid responces, giving priority to rescuing activities and attending to injured people, and to preventing the spread of damage." CPR Training sessions are provided by the OHS section from Jan. 2020.

We recommend attendance of one or two members from each section/team/unit at least.

Eligibility: all OIST employees and students who have not taken the course
