My research interest is on plant biology especially the epigenetics of defense priming in plants. Currently, I am a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow at RIKEN-Yokohama. I love playing badminton and I also snowboard and ski during winter season. It would be nice to meet you.
Akira Kawano, OIST PhD Student
Graduated from Kyushu University (Bachelor)
Hello everyone! I am a first year PhD student at OIST. After graduating Miyakonojyo Kosen where I have studied electrical engineering, I transferred to the department of Physics in Kyushu university. During the spring vacation of the university, I joined the research internship at OIST and studied in Mathematics, Mechanics, and Materials Unit. I found the beautiful environment in Okinawa and met energetic OIST people at that time. Then I chose OIST for my PhD. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports and the guitar. I will talk about the student life at OIST in this Café. See you soon!
