Research

The Environmental Science Section (ESS) leads and promotes the following three central research themes of the OKEON Churamori Project.

  1. Camera Trap Survey Project
  2. Alien Ants Research Project
  3. Community Collaboration Project

Through these research projects, we will use the latest technology, knowledge, local Okinawan materials, and old and new data to understand how Okinawa's present and future natural environment is impacted by changes in nature and human activity, and then to protect Okinawa's natural environment from this impact. We are also conducting research to contribute to the Okinawa SDGs by directly applying the knowledge and technologies revealed through the environmental research of the OKEON Churamori Project to society to solve local problems.
