November 1-5, 2021, Okinawa
The key aim of ECogS 2021 is to create a forum that will advance scientific understanding of the many roles that social interaction plays in shaping our cognitive capacities in both health and disease.
It will realize this aim by bringing together experts from experimental and theoretical disciplines, including psychology, social cognitive neuroscience, computer science, anthropology, and philosophy of mind. The speakers on the list of keynotes will provide diverse perspectives on the core theme of how real-time embodied social interaction matters to the mind.
More generally, the pandemic has made the importance of social interaction to mental wellbeing increasingly salient, as people around the globe struggle to cope with the prolonged lockdown and social distancing measures that have been in place since last year. The conference will therefore also provide an opportunity to reflect on what insights we can learn from these challenging times.
We look forward to welcoming you at ECogS 2021!
