OIST Tedako Preschool



OIST Tedako Preschool- a part of the OIST Child Development Center (CDC) - offers full-day pre-school for children of OIST student and employees.

The OIST CDC offers the following services for the children of OIST employees and students.

・Tedako Preschool: Full-time care for children 2 month to 6 years of age and part-time care for children attending local kindergarten. Hours are from 08:00 to 18:00, Monday through Friday.

School Age Programs Services (SAP)

Child Development Center

The OIST Child Development Center is a cooperative effort by OIST employees and their families to foster happy, healthy, compassionate, and socially confident children who are prepared to successfully face challenges beyond the security of the Preschool and the other CDC programs. These programs are grounded in the belief that children are competent, curious, resourceful learners, and all activities and materials are designed to provoke creativity and wonder, encourage cooperation, strengthen relationships, and build the confidence that is essential to becoming an independent learner.

The OIST community is intrinsically international, but to accommodate children raised and educated here, the staff of the Preschool and other CDC programs includes Japanese and English speakers. Additionally curriculum and management of all to provide children with an international perspecitve and a firm grounding in Japan.
