Abstract

The photonic recoil can induce the spatial decoherence of two atoms in a single-mode ring cavity. The atomic entanglement may decay to almost zero in a finite time, and the disentanglement time depends on the width of the wave packets describing the atomic spatial distribution. A method to generate macroscopically distinct superposition states by utilizing an ultra strongly-coupled light-matter system would also be presented. By modulating the optomechanical coupling frequency to near resonance, the mechanical displacement can be enhanced inducing the macroscopically distinct superposition states.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the seminar!
