Abstract:
KAKENHI season is approaching. Dr. Shintaro Funahashi, a neuroscientist whose excellent studies shed light on the neuronal mechanisms of the functional role of prefrontal cortex will kindly visit OIST as a Grant Facilitator for KAKENHI application. Though his KAKENHI record looks extremely good, he was no different from any other young PIs. After he came back to Japan from Yale where he worked as a postdoctoral fellow, he started his own laboratory from scratch, without appropriate experimental space, struggling with KAKENHI. In this great opportunity, he will share his own experiences of KAKENHI and career development with us and we hope OIST researchers will challenge KAKENHI applications this fiscal year.
