Cell Signal Unit (Tadashi Yamamoto)

The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) is an international graduate university where top level scientists in fields ranging from mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology are conducting excellent research and education. Research environment are interdisciplinary and research facilities are excellently prepared in OIST. Here in the Cell Signal Unit, we are studying molecular mechanism of cell signaling and gene regulation that are relevant to cellular responses to environmental signals such as nutrients, DNA damaging agents, etc. Because the failure of proper response to the environment is often causative to various diseases including cancer, we are also interested in providing important information that can be applied for the development of new therapy.
