Date

Friday, July 31, 2015 - 11:00 to 12:00

Location

Seminar Room B250, Center Building

Description

Speaker:

Abstract:
Cosmic inflation is a very successful paradigm in the early Universe cosmology that can explain the large scale uniformity of the present Universe as well as the spectrum of the cosmic microwave background and the origin of the large scale structure. In this talk, after giving an overview on why inflation is necessary and how it is supported by observations, I will discuss two different approaches taken by particle theorists to build theoretical models of cosmic inflation.
